Edging is the most common service added to a regular lawn care service.
A very simple service that adds a sharpness to your property that looks intentional and well maintained.
Once or twice a year is most often enough to keep everything in check, with commercial properties this is most times included in the estimate.
for residential clients we most often provide edging during droughts when un-watered grass has minimal growth.
Bushes often need to be trimmed twice per grow season to maintain a circular, triangular, or square shape. accelerated growth or missing a trim can result in a slightly unsightly plant that cannot be mended in a single visit. however, with regular trimming even the most u unsightly plants can be brought back into their intended shape. The same is true for many common plant species. (ferns and day lilies being the most common)
Soil Testing can tell a lot about the general health of your lawn. It will also highlight any problems it may be facing. A soil test has four main parts N, P, K, and PH
Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (potash)
Any Nutrient deficiency can be amended with its corresponding nutrient. PH can be lowered with many natural products depending on the starting acidity of the soil.
Overseeding is a great way to get a thicker lawn. It is important to first be sure there isn't a different reason for your thinning lawn. We are always happy to perform a soil test and general assessment of your lawn's specific needs. Overseeding is most successful immediately after de-thatching and/ or aeration.
Most effective during spring months, aeration is the process of creating small voids in the soil in order to promote better absorption of oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. (Vital nutrients that are required for a healthy lawn). Typically, the pieces of sod removed from these voids are left on top of the lawn to provide a natural source of nourishment.
Most applicable on thick healthy lawns, de-thatching is the process of removing built up dead grass tangled deep into your lawn and creating light scratches exposing the soil to encourage moisture and nutrient absorption, as well as ensuring ground/seed contact before overseeding.
Most applicable on thick healthy lawns, or as a once/twice a year simple clean-up. Bagging your lawn too often can result in depleted nutrient reserves and or a drier less drought resistant topsoil.
